Dubai Holding has announced the return of the highly anticipated Dubai Holding Sky Run, the only official stair race in Dubai. The 17th edition of the race will be held on November 12, in collaboration with the International Vertical Running Federation, the Dubai Sports Council and the Al Jalila Foundation, as well as Jumeirah Emirates Towers, which hosts the event.
The Dubai Holding Sky Run requires climbing 52 floors, equivalent to 1,334 steps, to the top of the office building in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, which is interesting for charity purposes. All proceeds from the competition will go to the “Hope Council” of the Al Jalila Foundation, the official charity beneficiary of Dubai Holding’s various fitness initiatives.
250 competitors, including 20 to 30 professional athletes, are expected to join the Dubai Holding Sky Run this year, in three categories: elite runners, open participation and teams, where it is a condition that each team consists of 4 participants. Dubai Holding will honor the top three male and top three female competitors in the Elite and Open Entry categories, as well as honor the top three teams. Dubai Holding will also celebrate the participation of determined people in the tender. Dubai Holding will award cash prizes to the top three winners in the Elite category and to the fastest team in the Team category.

Since 2008, the International Vertical Running Federation has adopted ladder running as a recognized sporting activity, and the federation is the official body that encourages and supervises vertical running around the world, be it high altitude racing or mountaintop racing. of the mountains or running up the stairs.
All proceeds from Dubai Holding SkyRun 2022 will go to the Council of Hope of the Al Jalila Foundation, which is the first community center in the UAE to be established with the aim of caring for the health and psychological fitness of cancer patients and of those who are being treated for it.
