On the second and third floors of the museum are the works of legendary photographer Ulvjas Albert, in which mostly black and white photographs capture the colorful participants of the Las Vegas World Poker Championship, as well as celebrities from various fields, with a strong focus on music and cinema. Tom Waits, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Jimi Hendrix and many other rock and gold names of the Hollywood industry await you in Tulsa, but you can snap a photo with a fridge full of beers with Charles, the King of Bohemia. The Bukowski one, of course.

“Sigur Ros” concert in “Arena Riga”
Icelanders “Sigur Ros”, who have built their own musical universe, are working on their eighth album and will certainly be presenting some fresher material at the big “Arena Rīga” concert on October 15th. The Icelandic spirit may very well resonate with the chilling but beautiful autumn, allowing thoughts to fly far and deep. Unlike the most famous representative of Icelandic music, Björk, who has just released his tenth extremely avant-garde album “Fossora”, the group “Sigur Ros” continues to follow a fluidly brilliant musical path, even if not always completely simplified. , evoking his sonorous world and in some cases also the language of singing. . The most fascinating section is surely the extraordinary voice of the band member Jonsi.

Stanislav Tokalov’s feature film “Lover”
The debut film by director Stanislav Tokalov “Mīlulis”, which arrived on the screens of Latvian cinemas, surprises with its high-quality bar, both in terms of content and images. Tokalovs has approached the subject of child adoption from an unusual point of view and develops the film’s story sometimes in an environmentally pleasing way, but Romanian cinematographer Olegs Mutu visualizes it with artistic perfection. Atypical Latvian cinema, which fits into the context of modern European cinema with the presence of the new Romanian film school. I’m usually more excited about movies where music plays a big role, such as “Neon Spring”, which will be released on October 14th, but this time it’s the un-overloaded sound design that justifies itself.

Album “S&T Syndicate” “Elevator Music 2.1”
Instrumental music group “S&T Syndicate” decided to laugh at the concept of “elevator music”, which is often used when the presence of a singer is missing in a jazz-oriented recording, and released the album ironically titled “Elevator. Music 2.1 “. For the first time, at least in the history of Latvian music, it was released in the telephone listening format, thus making the musical presentation “all operators busy” smile.
