In addition, she adds that the doctors sent her directly to the Haukeland Unitersitetssykehus emergency room and gave her an MRI of the head.
– I was told they had found something that wasn’t supposed to be there, but at the time they couldn’t tell if it was a benign or malignant tumor, Gullaksen elaborates.
Her husband Robert Scott agrees and says it has been a difficult emotional time for the family.
– When we got an answer that they had found something – no, then I started crying. Then I felt compelled to go out for a walk. I tried to be strong and tell her it would be okay, but I knew that if it turned out to be cancer, it would be a death sentence no matter what others thought. I had family members who had to lose due to illness, so I was really terrified.
Clearly marked
Scott reveals that the outcome of the tumor was not yet clear when he took part in the reality show, but commends the production for providing him with updates along the way when his wife failed to do the same.
– I was told I should call production as soon as I knew something, but I didn’t – so he went around and worried for weeks, says Gullaksen.

The husband defends himself by saying that he thought nothing new was good news, but adds that it was a concern that was always in the back of his mind and that characterized his stay in this year’s season.
– We now know the tumor is benign, but he didn’t know when it was in there. We are told that we need to look into the situation to find out if it is something I can live with or if it needs to be removed.
Received death message during registration
Viewers saw several dramatic moments during this year’s “The Farm” seasonand for Scott, there’s one incident in particular he can’t leave behind.
– The production came to us and said they had bad news. I immediately thought that something was wrong with Beate and I started to have the same feeling I felt when my brothers died. All of this goes through my head as he takes Maymona away. At first I thought she wanted to retire until I saw her face. I had seen such a face before, and I quickly realized that she had lost someone she loved.
Reveal an unknown diagnosis
The incident Scott is referring to is when the production of “The Farm” had to raid to take over the competitor Maymona Mohamed aside to tell her about the sudden and brutal death of her father.
The dramatic message of death was witnessed by viewers during Tuesday’s episode, an episode that arguably contains the strongest scenes ever shown in “The Farm” long history.
A tearful and clearly moved Mohamed returns to the farm to greet the remaining contestants and, in a heartbreaking scene, Mohamed tells her that he has lost his father, while contestants Mathea Friis (22) and Ivana Miric (28) give her a heartfelt hug. where they try to comfort her.
– Puts things into perspective
Although many reacted to the TV crew filming the strong scenes, Scott believes it was the right choice.
That’s why he removed “everything” from Instagram
– There were a couple of contestants who weren’t exactly thrilled. Although it is a game, it is also reality. There are real events and real feelings. He also put things in perspective in there. Maymona had to approve everything and we could talk to the psychologist for as long as we wanted.
Scott adds that he had no problem with them filming real emotions, as long as Maymona decided what to show.
– I understand it’s private and painful – but it’s 2022. Almost nothing is private anymore. It is up to each individual to share what he wants. The whole episode depended on Maymona, and if it was okay with her, it was okay with me.
Dagbladet has been in contact with “The Farm” press contact, Håvard Solem, who confirms that everything related to that episode was done in consultation with Maymona Mohamed.
