During the period when the number of influenza and acute viral respiratory infections increases, doctors recommend washing hands as often as possible. This helps prevent the transmission of viruses and bacteria.
But American scientists at the National Institutes of Health have found that there is another important thing: touching your face as little as possible.
When a person touches their nose or mouth, bacteria and viruses are instantly transmitted from their hands. And washing your hands isn’t a solution either. Furthermore, during the experiment it was found that, on average, people touch objects 3.3 times per hour and touch the face 3.6 times per hour.
