Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Houston, Texas, claimed that the killer who targeted an Indonesian citizen named Novita Kurnia Putri (NKP) was arrested by local police. The arrests were made by helicopter.
“Information from the police, the perpetrator was arrested shortly after the accident after being chased by a car and a helicopter,” the coordinator of the function for social and cultural affairs, the consulate general told reporters on Sunday. Indonesian in Houston, Mohamad Kamal (9/10/2022).
Kamal said the shooters were 2 people. The perpetrators shot the wrong target after stealing a car around the place.

“The perpetrators are 2 people aged between 14 and 15 and will be charged with 2 charges, namely murder and serious assault with threat of death or life imprisonment,” he said.
Indonesian citizens killed in Texas
Earlier, Mohamad Kamal said the incident occurred on October 5, 2022. The Indonesian Consulate General dealt with the case.
“The incident took place on October 5, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas, about 3 hours from where I am in Houston, and the victim is an Indonesian citizen on behalf of Novita Kurnia Putri (NKP). The Indonesian consulate general in Houston, upon receiving the report, immediately went to the crime scene and met the victim’s husband, a US citizen, ”Kamal told reporters on Sunday (9/10).
Kamal said Novita was the victim of a poorly targeted shooting. The perpetrator is known to be a teenager who was stealing a car in the vicinity of the accident.
“We also met with the security forces to obtain information on the incident. According to the police, the NKP was the victim of a poorly targeted shooting by a teenager with an automatic weapon who had previously stolen a car.” , he said.
