Minsa protects your family from 27 diseases: here vaccination times and places | News

Vaccination has proven for years to be one of the most effective interventions in the prevention of infectious diseases, and Peru has one of the best schemes internationally, which seeks to strengthen itself with a plan to fill immune gaps against 27 diseases. Who should be vaccinated, when and where?

The Ministry of Health recently launched the “Vaccine, I protect” campaign, which aims to promote the continuity of the Regular Vaccination System in children under 5, the elderly, expectant mothers and girls aged 9 to 13which was affected by the covid-19 pandemic.

María Elena Martínez, director of Immunizations at Minsa, recalled that Peru has 17 vaccines that protect against 27 potentially deadly diseases such as poliomyelitis, measles, rubella, mumps, chicken pox, meningitis, pneumonia, tetanus, hepatitis A and B, flu, diarrheal infections, among others.

The plan to fill the gaps includes vaccination brigades, which will be moved to strategic areas where there is a lower immunization rate.

Mothers or fathers can go to any of the more than 8,000 health care facilities where the supply of vaccines is ensured.

Health Centers licensed for the Gap Campaign are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm, plus Saturdays (8am to 7pm) and Sundays (8am to 2pm) .
