City lead with another goal from Haaland, Chelsea and Tottenham also win

Manchester City beat Southampton 4-0 at home this Saturday and are provisional Premier League leaders on Matchday 10, in which Chelsea won and managed to break into the ‘Top 4’ and Tottenham also won.

Joao Cancelo (20), Phil Foden (32), Ryad Mahrez (49) and Erling Haaland (65) were the scorers of the match, in which the Norwegian scored his 20th goal of the season in all competitions, 15 of them in championship.

With this result, the blue team is the provisional leader, to the detriment of Sunday’s match between Arsenal and Liverpool (15h30 GMT) which could bring the Gunners back to the top of the standings in case of victory.

For their part, Chelsea have obtained the third consecutive victory since the arrival of Graham Potter on the bench of the Blues, beating Wolverhampton 3-0, who do not leave the relegation zone (18th). After a difficult start to the season, Chelsea are provisionally placed in the “Top 4”.

Spurs reacted well, albeit without showing a game they fell in love with, after losing in the derby to Arsenal last Saturday (3-1) and the Champions League draw against Eintrach Frankfurt on Tuesday (0-0).

In the fight for European positions also Newcastle (5th), who beat Brentford (12th) 5-1 in a game in which Paraguayan Miguel Almirón scored the fourth goal for the Magpies (82).

In Saturday’s other game, Bournemouth (8th) came on a comeback to come back 2-1 in Leicester (19th), a result that once again put Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers on a tightrope.
