The semifinals of the 67th International Eurovision Song Contest will take place on 9 and 11 May 2023 and the final on 13 May, in the hometown of the popular band The Beatles.
This year the representatives of Ukraine – the group “Kalush Orchestra” – won the international song competition with the song “Stefania”, but due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it was decided to hold the competition the next year in Great Britain, which took second place in the competition this year.
Initially, at the place of the competition claimed seven British cities: Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield. But in the end, the Union of European Broadcasting Organizations together with the British broadcasting company BBC decided to hold the contest in Liverpool.
In Great Britain, the Eurovision Song Contest has been held five times so far, four in London and once in Birmingham.
