Palakkad ∙ Parli HSS and Mundur HSS have won the cross-country skiing competition for boys and girls under 17 conducted by the Palakkad division of the Southern Railway Sports Association. KK Ajay (Talk HSS) took first place in the boys category. K. Kishore and S. Jagadnathan (both Mundur HSS) finished second and third. Mundoor has blown away the girls category. R. Rudra, R. Alanya and R. Ananya won the first, second and third position. 107 boys and 44 girls from different schools in the district participated in the competition.
Railway division manager Trilok Kothari has stopped the competition. The sports star and MP PT Usha handed out the award. ADRMC T. Zakir Hussain, Southern Railway Women’s Welfare Officer Divya Deva Kothari, Division Personnel Officer Siddharth K. Verma, Senior Division Electrical Engineer and Secretary of the Southern Railway Sports Association V. Anoop, Special Duty Officer Tintu Luca , former sportsmen Preeja Sreedharan, C. Haridas, S. Murali, Lijo David Thotan, A. Suresh and others gave speeches.

∙ PT Usha MP said that it is hard work that makes a sportsman excel. They were handing out prizes to the winners of the cross-country competition held in the Railway Division. Even if it is a small structure, a good workout should be done. He also said that one should have the will to win.
He won 103 international medals for India between 1982 and 2022 when he joined the Railways. He has won 60 medals from 15 open national rallies and 40 medals from inter-rail competitions for the railways. The actor also claimed that all of these achievements are due to the railways.
