“Austin Powers” Mike Myers on Queen’s Death: “I Cried Like a Baby”

Hollywood star Mike Myers According to his own statements, the death of British Queen Elizabeth II is not yet over. “I cried like a baby to be honest and I’m still devastated,” the 59-year-old Canadian, son of two Britons, said Thursday on the US talk show Good Morning America.

The queen’s death nearly a month ago was “so painful” for him, the actor said, “What a great woman.”

The queen was the same age as her mother and one of the things she appreciates is that she stayed in Britain during World War II. “I think she did a great job. So, she’s out now.”

He never met the Queen in person, but was once invited to Buckingham Palace, the actor said. “They played the Austin Powers tune in my honor.”

Myers, who enjoyed huge success with the Austin Powers spy comedy series 20 years ago, will star in the new thriller Amsterdam. The film in which also Christian Bale, Margot Robbie And Robert De Niro play along is scheduled for theaters in November.
