NEW YORK – The General elections on 8 November in New York they come for voters to elect to the House of Representatives, Senate, State Assembly, State Supreme Court, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and other state offices. New York residents held two primary elections this summer after the borough’s reorganization shook the state’s election maps and delayed the state’s House and Senate primaries until August. On June 28, the first New York primary elections were held.

State Attorney General Letitia James has set up a voter protection hotline so that voters can report problems at the polls during this election period.
Voters experiencing problems can notify the Attorney General’s Office by calling the new hotline number (866) 390-2992. They can also file a complaint online here or email [email protected]. The Attorney General has also created a FAQ guide to help voters.
The hotline will be open from 6:00 to 21:00, the opening hours of the polls. Lawyers and OAG staff process hotline calls and written requests for election assistance.
The hotline and digital forms are available in multiple languages. Written requests for election assistance can be submitted at any time via of the online complaint form.
“Free and fair access to the polls is an integral part of our democracy,” said Attorney General James. “While states across the country are doing their best to curtail voting rights, New Yorkers can count on our election protection hotline to address any challenge and provide helpful guidance, whether they vote absent, by mail or in person at the polling station. My office will always fight to defend the right to full and meaningful participation in the electoral process “.
Since November 2012, the MPC has been running its election protection hotline.
During previous elections, the MPC responded to hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of complaints from voters from across the state and worked with local and other election officials to address the issues. The Attorney General’s Office has also taken legal action to protect against purges from voter registration and to ensure that voters have adequate and equal access to early voting as required by law.
Attorney General James reminds all registered voters that they are entitled to accessible elections. In addition, all registered voters have the right to vote without coercion or intimidation, whether by election officials or any other person.
