US lawmakers have called Saudi Arabia’s actions hostile after rejecting Washington’s request to increase oil production. PHOTOS / REUTERS
The statement was made by three members of the United States (US) Parliament of the Democratic Party. They urged the Joe Biden government to withdraw all Washington troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Instead of meeting American demands, the two oil-rich countries have announced they will cut production, a move that should trigger a rise in US gas prices.
The three Democrats are Tom Malinowski of New Jersey (a former State Department official during the Barack Obama administration), Sean Casten of Illinois and Susan Wild of Pennsylvania.

On Wednesday, they introduced a bill to withdraw all US troops and military equipment from the two oil-rich countries.
“The drastic reductions in oil production by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, despite President Biden’s offers to the two countries in recent months, are a hostile act against the United States and a clear signal that they have chosen to take sides. with Russia in its war against Ukraine, “the three members said. The American parliament said this in a statement.
“Both countries have long relied on the US military presence in the Gulf to protect their security and their oil fields. We see no reason why American troops and contractors should continue to provide these services to countries that are actively working against us, “they continued.

The United States has approximately 3,000 troops in Saudi Arabia and 2,000 in the UAE, numbers that have increased in recent years to help protect those countries from missile attacks by Iranian-backed Yemen Houthi rebels.
