After the arrival of a batch of 50,000 doses of pediatric vaccines, the Regional Health Directorate (Geresa) of Lambayeque began vaccination against covid-19 in children aged 6 months to 4 years, 11 months and 29 days.
The main regional authorities attended the inauguration ceremony, chaired by the lawyer Regional Governor of Lambayeque, Anselmo Lozano Centuriónwho in his message stated that he will continue to promote vaccination in the region, targeting children.
“Babies may be exposed to more infections, which is why they need to be vaccinated and don’t develop severe forms of the disease. We plan to vaccinate 101,000 children and start with a first batch of 50,000 doses”Said Meléndez Díaz.
In a ceremony held at the Initial Educational Institute n. 030 in Chiclayo, the first children to be vaccinated in the region were Tiago Bullón Guerrero (4) and Ariana Palacios Tarrillo (4), who set the example by receiving their first vaccine lab dose from the Moderna laboratory in its pediatric presentation.
“Our goal is that our entire population is vaccinated and protected. Evidence that the vaccine works is the decrease in deaths, starting with our most exposed healthcare workers. Now we have to vaccinate the smallest of the family and we will do everything possible to achieve the goals, “she added.
You can go to the health centers or health centers closest to your home and ask for vaccination dates for vaccines for both children and the general population who have not yet completed the doses. In addition, the brigades will continue to move from house to house and to go to educational institutions.
