The increase in the price of Pertalite to Rp. 10,000 per liter was accompanied by the news that its use was more expensive. Color is called change, Pertalite is also said to evaporate faster, so wear out quickly.
In connection with this, the government has asked Lemigas to conduct laboratory tests to ensure that the standards and quality of Pertalite comply with the Decree of the General Manager (Kepdirjen) of Oil and Gas No. 0486.K / 10 / DJM.S / 2017 concerning standards and quality (specifications) of RON 90 gasoline fuel types marketed nationally.
Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji explained that Lemigas had taken samples of Pertalite at 6 gas stations in the Jakarta area. Details are at Lenteng Agung gas station, Taman Mini gas station (2 gas stations), Abdul Muis gas station, Sunter gas station and S. Parman gas station. The sample is then tested to find out whether or not Pertalite meets the specifications.

“With this, there is no indication that there is an out-of-specification quality limit. Everything is within specification,” said Tutuka, quoted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources website, Thursday (6/10/2022 ).
However, Tutuka further said the government would be more careful to monitor the fuel standard and quality to ensure domestic fuel quality.
Previously, Pertamina as a distributor of Pertalite also confirmed that the RON 90 fuel has not experienced a decline in quality. The specs haven’t changed despite the fact that the price has gone up. In fact, the monitoring process was carried out from the moment the fuel enters the Fuel Terminal storage tank until it is distributed to the service station.
“The quality control process of a combustible product before it can be declared fit for distribution at this service station starts from the moment the product is supplied from the refinery or imported, during storage, until it is distributed to the station. In each process, the combustible product must be declared suitable, meets the requirements. or standard specifications determined by the General Director of Oil and Gas, if the sample test is not feasible, it will not be able to leave the BBM Terminal “, said PT Pertamina Patra The company secretary of Niaga Irto Ginting.
The quality control process is however carried out periodically when the fuel is stored in the storage tank. Combustible products are periodically tested immediately after the pumping process, both from the refinery and from the imported pipes, until before being distributed to the tankers. Before the tanker can leave the BBM fuel terminal and reach the destination service station, the fuel product will be tested again at the exit.
The checking process is also carried out until all the fuel is piped into the underground tank at the service station. Even if it does not meet the specifications, the fuel will not be sold to the public.
