Federal Minister Martin Polaschek presents the “Better Learning Worlds AWARD”

Vienna (OTS) For the second time, the Minister of Education, Science and Research Martin Polaschek presented the “Better Learning Worlds AWARD” and the Baukultur Education Project Award in a festive setting in BG / BRG Vienna III.

“Educational buildings are of particular importance for the state of education in our society and for the learning success of the individual. The ability to concentrate and thus success in learning can be greatly influenced by architectural influences. Therefore, modern and functional architecture is needed, especially for school buildings. Awards such as the “Better Learning Worlds” AWARD highlight the great influence of architecture on education. I congratulate all the award winners for their innovative projects, “said Martin Polaschek, Minister of Education, Science and Research.

High-quality educational buildings are an expression of appreciation, public presence and therefore also of the importance of education in society. At the same time, they manifest a contemporary learning culture and modern educational offerings. Furthermore, they clarify what added value a well thought-out design has for everyone’s well-being.

Projects (new buildings, renovations, renovations, interior design) that have been completed since 2013 and operational since 2019 can be submitted.

The proposals were evaluated by a jury of experts in the fields of architecture and training on the basis of design quality criteria of the project, interaction between training and architecture, forms of partnership between all those involved in the project, acceptance and appropriation by of users and aspects of sustainability. The awarded projects show different models of high quality educational buildings and should serve as inspiration for further realizations.
