[ワシントン 3日 ロイター] – US President Joe Biden released a statement on Iranian protests on Wednesday, noting that officials involved in violence against peaceful protesters will pay the price.
Protests continued across Iran following the sudden death of Mahsa Amini, who was arrested for wearing a scarf to cover her hair.
Biden expressed “serious concern” at reports of violent crackdowns on peaceful protesters and vowed to act quickly.
“The United States will bring those responsible for violence against peaceful protesters to justice this week. We will continue to hold Iranian officials accountable and uphold the right of the Iranian people to protest freely,” he said.
