THE BALL – Gonzalo Higuaín announces the end of his career (Argentina)

Argentina’s Gonzalo Higuaín announced the end of his football career at the end of the season in MLS in the United States on Monday.

The 34-year-old has been with Inter Miami since 2020 and, with two games remaining in the regular season, he will still be able to see the team play in the champions’ playoffs.

International A for Argentina on 75 occasions (31 goals), Higuaín has had an excellent career in European football. Signed by Real Madrid from River Plate in 2007, he spent six years in Spain, then moved to Italy, where he represented Napoli, Juventus (Torino paid 90 million euros to the Neapolitans for the striker) and Milan and half played at Chelsea between January and June 2019.

This season Higuaín has scored 14 goals in 26 games for Inter Miami, with whom he has a contract until 31 December. For the Argentine national team, Hangnail played three World Cups, including the 2014 final, which he lost to Germany, in Brazil.
