Haaland delighted with City’s impressive win over United

City fans will never forget this match, whether they were at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday or around the world.
Three goals from Haaland and Foden decided the game against city rivals Manchester, before the visitors could score goals and take the penalty kick to narrow the difference.

Foden reaches the 50th goal
Phil Foden is the youngest player to have scored 50 goals with Pep Guardiola, beating Lionel Messi by 37 days.
Foden was 22 years and 127 days old yesterday and now has 51 goals during his career with City.
Other names on the list of players who have scored at least 50 points with Pep are Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller and seven players during his time with City.
The derby with the most goals
With nine goals per game, it was the biggest ever result in the Manchester derby.
The second most important result in the Premier League edition was a 1-6 win at Old Trafford in October 2011.
Haaland’s contribution to goals
Erling Haaland has participated in five of City’s six goals (3 goals, 2 assists), which is the most contributions a player has scored in a single Premier League derby.
He now has 17 goals in his first 8 Premier League games (14 goals, three assists).
Of all the players who have played at least 200 minutes so far, Haaland has contributed one goal every 39 minutes of play.
He thus passes Roberto Firmino of Liverpool, who is second in scoring every 53 minutes, and then comes Kevin De Bruyne, who contributes directly to the goal every 68 minutes.
Fifth on that list, behind Leeds United’s Rodrigo, is Phil Foden who has scored seven goals, averaging one goal every 86 minutes.

Haaland’s hat-trick in his first eight Premier League games makes him the fastest to reach that goal after just 40 games.
Thus, he beat Michael Owen (48 games), Ruud van Nistelrooy (59 games) and Fernando Torres (64 games).
He became the first player in Premier League history to score 3 goals in three consecutive Premier League home games and the third player in City history to score a hat-trick in the Manchester derby after Francis Lee in 1970 and Horace Barnes in 1921.
Foden’s hat-trick also saw City become the third team in Premier League history to score more than one hat-trick in a single game, after Jermaine Pennant.
Overall sharing
Erling Haaland (17) and Kevin De Bruyne (10), have made City the top scorer and best assist in the five major European leagues in all competitions this season, as De Bruyne has assisted five of Haaland’s goals.

Pep Guardiola’s side continued to lead Manchester United from the first minute.
City have shot 22 times on goal compared to United’s 12 shots, with a goal ratio of 3.30 to 1.67, but these numbers only tell part of the game.

Although Foden and Haaland scored the goals, the dominant performance required the entire team to dominate the match.

De Bruyne’s pass led to the second goal with Haaland, and it’s one of the safe passes we’ll see several times.
He also had an excellent performance in midfield – starting with Ederson and Nathan Ake – who was overtaken by Jack Grealish before making a breakthrough.
And then it was De Bruyne’s vision and the Haaland movement.
Aki and Akanji
Manuel Akanji became incredibly pivotal early in his City career, starting all four games he has been available in so far.
The 27-year-old has made the most successful passes of anyone on the pitch (71) and has made more tackles than anyone so far, playing twice alongside Ruben Diaz and twice alongside Aki.
Yesterday he equalized with Aki, who alone covered most of the left wing, often covering in the wing while Joao Cancelo moved deep to reinforce the midfield, then in the second half Sergio Gomez went forward.
With Kyle Walker out injured and the usual lack of coverage from Rodrygo and the pair are still getting to know each other, they were the reason the team stayed together on Sunday.
