Travelers can still use a summer month for little money and travel throughout Germany, for example to the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. The beautiful days by the sea, the fine sandy beaches and the relaxation without doing anything attract you. And this for only 9 euros, because there is still one month left to use the economic offer of regional transport.

The travel reporter presents a selection of Baltic and North Sea destinations that can be easily reached on foot from the train station. In addition to some other rules, users only need to make sure that they only use second-class regional trains. The ticket also covers regional express trains, S-Bahn, U-Bahn and trams, as well as buses and some ferries.

Sankt Peter-Ording

In Sankt Peter-Ording, an endless beach of fine sand, dunes and the vastness of the North Sea await you. All you have to do is take the train from the train station in the district town of Husum in Schleswig-Holstein to the Bad Sankt Peter-Ording train station and walk about 20 minutes. Various stretches of beach, the beach’s characteristic stilt houses and a fully developed infrastructure extend over twelve kilometers.

From restrooms, restaurants and beach chair rentals to a wide range of sports, everything is available. In Sankt Peter-Ording, people with walking disabilities also have the option of borrowing a special wheelchair for sand.

The popular Sankt Peter-Ording is also easily accessible with the 9-euro ticket from June.

Westerland on Sylt

From June you can also travel to Westerland with the regional train for 9 euros. It starts in Hamburg, passing the eleven kilometers of Hindenburgdamm to a stop in Westerland. From there it is a ten minute walk to the North Sea Island beach.

If you’re thinking about the cheapest way to get to the trendy island and want to check out the island’s celebrities, you can try your luck in Kampen. Here the highest real estate prices in Germany are paid and 1,200 second homes for 500 residents speak for themselves. Kampen also has a spectacular beach.
