At the Vohburg barrage, police dogs were looking for clues that could help investigators in the case of the boy who died from the Danube.

It was May 19th when a boatman saw something floating on the Danube. Approaching him with the paddle, he realized that what he had found could be a case for the police. It was only in forensics that it was finally discovered that it was actually a human corpse. The fact that it was a school-age child floating on the Danube could only be clarified after further investigation.
Nobody misses the Danube boy
Since then, investigators have largely groped in the dark. No one is missing a boy who fits the description, no one knows exactly how and when the boy entered the Danube. Nor is it certain how the baby died, which must have been in the water for a long time. Search operations along the Danube were not as successful as the requests for witnesses. There hasn’t been a hot lead so far. Additionally, further investigations are underway by the coroner’s office to get a little closer to the boy’s identity.
A dead woman was found in a car in Ingolstadt
Much work awaits the police officers in another case. In August, parents found a dead woman in a car on Peisserstrasse in Ingolstadt. For a day they thought she was their daughter.
Then came the turning point. The dead woman was not her 23-year-old daughter at all, but someone her own age who looked confusingly like her. And that’s not all: your daughter had suddenly transformed from presumed dead to suspect yourself. Together with a 23-year-old, she has been in custody since the crime.

Why did the doppelganger have to die?
Much speculation has emerged about the motive for the killing of the woman, who came from the Heilbronn area. Did the doppelganger have to die so that the suspect could fake her own death? Is there a relationship act behind it? Investigators have to follow all these leads. So far, however, without having taken the decisive step. “We are investigating at full speed,” says police spokesman Andreas Aichele from the Northern Upper Bavaria police station.
