Great honor for the Bavarian honorary president of the Bavarian Trachtenverband: Max Bertl from Wildsteig (Oberer Lechgauverband) received the honorary prize “Kleine Bavaria” from the organizers of the Munich Oktoberfest. The honor was bestowed as part of the traditional Oktoberfest guest concert on the second Oktoberfest Sunday under the large statue of Bavaria and was combined with an honorary direction of the assembled Oktoberfest bands.
In addition to the Wiesn hosts, the first to love were Mayor Dieter Reiter, Georg Ried of the Bavarian Radio and Bavarian Brass Band Association and William Hetzler, longtime gallerist and former president of the Steuben Parade in New York, who he is a member of the North American district association and has had friendly relations with the Bavarian Trachten Association for many years.
