To check the firmware version, you need to visit the settings on iOS or iPadOS, where you can find your AirPods under the Bluetooth menu item. By tapping the circle with the letter “I” next to it, you can view the current version number in the Device Information section.
On a Mac, you have to hold down the radio button and click on the apple logo, then after selecting the System Information menu item, look for the Bluetooth option, and within it you can also find the firmware version of the device in the AirPod information.
