Cases of DHF in the national capital region reach 3,034 cases, 24 patients have died

BALIKPAPAN, iNews.id – Case dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in the region The nation’s capital (IKN) Nusantara, East Kalimantan reached 3,034 cases. Of these, the deaths reached 24 people.

East Kalimantan provincial health bureau chief Mualimin said most DHF cases have occurred in Samarinda, Bontang, West Kutai, Mahakam Ulu and Balikpapan.

“The total number of deaths due to dengue fever in East Kalimantan is 24, out of 3,034 cases,” Mualimin said on Sunday (09/25/2022).

It revealed that the number of 3,034 incidents in East Kalimantan was the largest outside of Java. This figure also surpassed last year’s number of accidents, which was 2,900.

“So we continue to coordinate and carry out all efforts to prevent this case from continuing to grow,” said Kaltim Mualimin.

Balikpapan health service chief Dr Andi Sri Juliarty said the rainy season of 2022 in Balikpapan recorded 610 cases of dengue fever and two residents died. “The case of death occurred in southern Balikpapan,” he said.

With this development, the Health Bureau has again recalled and stepped up dengue fever prevention programs. The Jumantik paintings continued to move and the 3M movement was resumed again.

Jumantik cadres or maggot watchers are volunteer officers in each neighborhood who are tasked with visiting people’s homes or paying attention to their environment so that there is no place for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes to breed.

The mosquito carrying the dengue virus requires clean, standing water or water that is housed as a place to lay its eggs.
