The closing volume defies the rain
Although it wasn’t as busy as usual at the cultural festival around the pedestrian zone. Visitors agreed: Brötzinger Saturday is simply part of it.

The smell of fried food pervades the air, people are seated at many tables in front of the restaurants and pubs of the Brötzinger pedestrian zone and enjoy jazz, rock, pop and classical music.
Popular party atmosphere at Brötzinger on Saturday, although some visitors thought there was something more.
But time cannot be trusted at the 44th edition of the cultural festival organized by the cultural office and the citizens’ association of Weststadt.
The festival creates unexpected encounters
First it drizzles, then the sun comes and this also attracts guests from outside, such as the couple of Birkenfeld Karin and Wolfgang Karcher. He said to his wife: “As a native of Brötzing, you have to come here today,” Wolfgang Karcher relates. The two share a quarter and suddenly there are three.
Brötzinger Saturday is always good for unexpected encounters. Heidi Wagner joined them, they haven’t seen each other for years and the joy of seeing each other is great. Brötzinger Saturday is simply a part of it, the trio agree that it’s always good.
The new stadium is in constant use
Another couple, Gabriele and Lothar Kranz, came from Eutingen, like every year when Brötzinger is on a Saturday. The two attended the Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester concert in the Martinskirche and were very impressed. “It was great.” Now they are waiting for Angela Grether to play the harp.
“And we will also listen to Jörg Augenstein.” The Brötzinger pop singer will appear on stage in the evening, which will premiere on Saturday at the Brötzinger. A few hours earlier, a crowd has gathered there, many waving with enthusiasm as the Aslan Day Center dance group performs a Turkish folk dance.
The stage is in constant use. The Spanish flamenco and the quartet “querhorn_divers” have several performances. The gospel choir sings in Christ Church. “You have to make sure you can reach all areas,” explains Alexander Weber of the city’s cultural office.
He is satisfied with the response to the festival. Weber is delighted with the relaxed atmosphere that welcomes him and is amazed at how much potential Brötzingen has.
You can also take a seat on the historic vehicle
This is also reflected in the visitor magnet around the moth’s cage. Raphael Mürle has his self-created character Reuchlin comment on the anniversary year and there are excerpts from “Dracula” to see.
Next to it, Eleni Engeser and Dirk Reinhold welcome the guests of the City Museum and ask them to sit on a jewel that you hardly dare to touch: the historic Bertha Benz car is there in all its glory. “It’s a reply,” Engeser answers an interested visitor’s question.
We prefer eye contact.
Knut Britsch, classic vehicles Oldtimer Club Pforzheim
At the end of the Brötzinger pedestrian zone there are also historic vehicles to admire. They are not made of wood but of sheet metal, but they are all original: Rolls Royce, Borgward and a number of other rarities are presented by the men of the Pforzheim Vintage Car Club. “The past is around here,” says member Knut Britsch.
The glamor of the past has a great charm. Again and again, crowds of astonished people gather. Britsch and President Paul Riedel are delighted. They don’t find it so bad that this Brötzinger Saturday doesn’t happen as much as it once did. “Then the cars will be less touched,” says Britsch. “We prefer eye contact.”
Later that evening, a rumble from above bodes ill. Then a storm breaks out. However, the 6th Element band did not let the performance be ruined and bravely carried out their program, much to the delight of the remaining approximately 100 spectators.
