A snapshot of Queen Elizabeth II’s final resting place was unveiled from Buckingham Palace on 24 September. The photo was taken in the Windsor Royal Chapel, which depicts a ledger bearing her name, the names of her parents and her husband, Prince Philip.

The stone, made of Belgian black marble, is found in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, commissioned by Queen Elizabeth in 1962 as the burial place of her father George VI. The Queen was buried here Monday after a state funeral at Westminster Abbey.

The corresponding photo was posted on Twitter by Buckingham Palace.

Representatives of the royal palace did not provide details on the process of observing traditions and processions. The copper inscription on the stone is known to read “George VI 1895-1952 / Elizabeth 1900-2002” in the first two lines, followed by a star with garter belt, and then “Elizabeth II 1926-2022 / Philip 1921-2021” in the two lower lines.

Queen Elizabeth’s sister Princess Margaret is also buried in a chapel at Windsor Castle in west London.

Elizabeth died on 8 September at Balmoral Castle, her summer residence in the Scottish Highlands, after 70 years on the throne. Her son Charles became king.

Previously, Cursor reported that Buckingham Palace featured the famous red mailbox in the office of King Charles III. The Royal Palace presented only one image, but the new monarch did not provide details on his work. He was pictured with his official red box in which he receives government documents. The British king is depicted at the table. He leaned against the box and stared at the documents they contained. In the background is a photograph of Charles’ deceased parents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
