The organizers of the Japanese Grand Prix, sixteenth round of the World Championship, have announced the cancellation of the third free practice session for the first category due to a storm that hit the Motegi circuit.
The qualifying session for the Moto 2 and Moto 3 championships will still be maintained and the qualifying session for Moto GB is expected to take place this afternoon if the storm clears and the circuit dries out safely for the bikes to exit.
> Miller and Banaya pass the first free practice of Motegi
> Marc Marquez fastest in the second free practice of Motegi
In the event that the qualifying session does not take place, the total times of the first and second free practice sessions will be used to determine the starting grid for Sunday’s race, which should be 75% dry.
