DEN BOSCH | The Vicki Brownhuis in Den Bosch is the first center for coexistence with and after cancer to offer psychosocial support to adults and children, their families and relatives. In the various months of the year, the Vicki Brownhuis pays particular attention to the different target groups. For example, breast cancer is central in October.
October is known around the world as Breast Cancer Month. For four consecutive Fridays, the Vicki Brownhuis presents a themed afternoon focusing on breast cancer.
Breast Cancer and Dan?
On Friday afternoon, October 7, the theme is “Breast Cancer and Dan?” central. Participants will then discuss treatment and psychosocial support for breast cancer. Creative attention is also paid to the process: where you come from, where you are now and where you want to go.
You deserve the right care for you
The following week, Friday, October 14, the theme afternoon is ‘You deserve the treatment that’s right for you’. Guests will speak with experience expert Joke Sprij and oncologist Dr. Tineke Smilde, among others. Even now there is time for creativity ‘how do you make ends meet’.
Nutrition
On the penultimate Friday afternoon, October 21st, ‘Nutrition (and Cancer)’ takes center stage. Dietitian and nutritionist Ellen Verspeek will then give an introduction to nutrition (and cancer), after which she will answer questions previously asked by guests.
day of pampering
The last themed afternoon, Friday 27 October, is a real ‘Cuddle day’. The day begins with various relaxation activities such as: a face massage, make-up and a hand massage. To indulge the inner man, there is a delicious ‘High Tea’. The day will end with a mini session of Tibetan bells.
