The preseason of Sporting, which starts this next Saturday in Mareo, has an important last-minute news that influenced the scheduled match in Lugo, canceled with the consequent anger of the Galician club. Abelardo’s team will perform a five-day concentration in Alicante before going to Mallorca to play the most important game in the preparation of the rojiblancos.
On Saturday 23 July Sporting were to play one of the preparation matches in the city of Viveiro against CD Lugo. It will not be so because that day Abelard’s team Cartagena will be measured in the Murcian city of San Pedro del Pinatar.
One day before the red and white it will be installed at La Finca Golf Resort, from the Alicante city of Algorfa, near Torrevieja, to tackle a five-day preparation phase. Abelardo and his players will remain in this sports center until Tuesday 26, when they travel to Palma de Mallorca. Wednesday 27 is the day scheduled for the match against CD Mallorca at the Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio of the Balearic club.
The last time Sporting included a concentration of this type outside Asturias was precisely with Abelardo Fernández as coach at the end of July 2015 in the preseason of the 2015-12016 campaign in the First Division. The rojiblanco team concentrated in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and carried out training sessions at the Tenerife Top Training in the town of Adeje, in the south of the island, as shown by the photograph accompanying these lines.
