The Ministry of Transport is carrying out an extension project of the Benha road towards Mansoura, through the construction of a free road east of Al-Riyah Al-Tawfiqi, with a length of 70 km, with a width of 4 lanes From Mansoura to Cairo from 4 lanes.
The distance from Mansoura to Damietta will also be extended, with a length of 50 km, in order to help raise the level of service, facilitating the movement of people and the transport of goods between the governorates of the delta, and solving traffic jams at the entrances. to cities and towns located on the carriageway to achieve the required traffic liquidity, as part of the project for the construction of a longitudinal traffic axis from Benha to Damietta to connect the Cairo-Alexandria agricultural road with the 140 km international coastal road, which includes 15 bridges, in order to serve the movement of passengers and goods through 6 governorates of Lower Egypt and the Delta (Qalyubia, Sharkia, Dakahlia, Damietta, Gharbia and Kafr El-Sheikh).
The Ministry of Transport completed the development and upgrading of the 73 km long Benha / Mansoura road and the construction of 5 road overpasses (Kafr Shukr, Sahrajt, Beshla, Tanamel and Asnet) and the construction of concrete barriers in the central part of the island and Al Janabz, and the bridges that have been built have helped to eliminate traffic jams in the cities located directly on this vital road, and to serve the movement of people and the transport of goods.
