The meeting takes place on the fringes of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Federal Foreign Minister Baerbock also participates. He said that Russian President Putin’s move was not only an attack on Ukraine, but also on world peace. Other Western countries have also harshly criticized the partial mobilization. US Secretary of State Blinken told Washington that the move reflects Russia’s struggles on the battlefield.

The Russian president announced partial mobilization yesterday. He also met with resistance in his country: according to civil rights activists, more than 1,300 people were arrested during demonstrations in Moscow, St. Petersburg and around 35 other cities.
