This year, the body is the center of attention in the international performances section of the festival. “In the next three years, in our program, we will go back to the beginnings of the theater and study the main elements of the theater: body, space, text. This year we will start with the body. The theme will be developed in two vectors: one is the body in scene, the other is the body as an object of discussion in modern society, conflict and battle zone. The body with which we fight for the right to exist, to be ourselves “, says Kristina Savickiene, who created the program of performances by the guests of the festival.
Sirens we will try to answer the question: what can the festival offer at a time when war is happening very close, the presence of which we feel every time we turn on one of the available screens and how our body is involved in both virtual warfare and battles of everyday life. Performances will make you think of the actor’s place in modern theater. Is the actor irreplaceable? Can technology replace the body? What is the importance of the actor on stage today and what will it be in the near future? What are the latest trends in non-verbal theater, physical theater and performance?
