Apple provide the latest features for iOS 16 which allows users to edit messages in iMessage.
The message editing feature is provided by Apple along with the features do not send or cancel a sent message.
However, the two new features have terms and conditions, i.e. when the sender of the message changes or cancels sending the message, the recipient of the message will be notified and will see that the message has been changed or deleted.

Meanwhile, if the recipient isn’t using iOS 16, they’ll only see messages that haven’t changed. Meanwhile, unsent messages will not be lost from the receiving device.

1. Long press on the message
2. Select Cancel Send
3. The message will disappear immediately and there is a description “You have canceled sending a message”
For the record, users only have two minutes to delete the message before the option disappears.
How to edit messages in iMessage iOS 16:
1. Long press on the message
2. Select Edit
3. Edit the message, then click the check mark icon
Just like deleting messages, the edit function also has a time limit before the option disappears. The message editing option will be available for 15 minutes after the message is sent.
On Monday (9/12) Apple officially launched the latest iOS 16 operating system.
In addition to editing and deleting messages, iOS 16 also offers major updates to the lock screen, new features in Mail, and other ways to interact with photos and videos with Live Text and Visual Look Up.
