Doha: eight new pedestrian bridges have been completed in Qatar, the Public Works Authority (Ashgal) announced.
Pedestrian bridges have been completed in Najma, Al Khaleez, Al Istiqlal, Al Furuziya, Onaisa, Doha Express Highway, Al Wukair Road and C-Ring Road.
These bridges will provide access to Qatar Sports Club’s Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium, Al Sadd Sports Club’s Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium and Al Ahly Sports Club’s Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium.
The Al Furuziya Pedestrian Bridge provides easy access for pedestrians to the Khalifa International Stadium. The bridge is designed to allow pedestrians and cyclists to cross safely.
Ahmed Al Mahmeed, project manager of Ashghals Bridges, said some of the bridge designs were inspired by the heritage of Qatar and the FIFA World Cup.
The bridges are designed according to national and international standards of high quality and safety.
