Jose Fuentes, president of Uruguayan club Nacional, has confirmed the departure of Luis Suarez, the former star of Barcelona, Spain, from the team next November, when his contract expires.
Sharjah 24 – Asaad Khalil:
Jose Fuentes, president of the Uruguayan club Nacional, has announced that Luis Suarez, the former Barcelona star, will leave the team next November, when his contract expires.
Suarez, 35, returned to Nacional last July after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired at the end of last season.
The Uruguayan national team’s top scorer has been in ten games for Nacional and scored four goals and three assists, but will leave the club at the end of the current season, before the start of the World Cup in Qatar.
“The tournament is over and Luis Suarez will leave Nacional, I will not share false expectations,” Fuentes told Puento Pinal television.
He added: “Luis Suarez did a great job for Nacional, and every time they asked me I said it so as not to create expectations for the future.”
And the president of the Nacional concluded his speech by saying: “He goes away and he has said it more than once, so we have dealt with things”.
