Several farmers intervened last night on the A1 at the Markelo exit. They set fire to tires and wood, among other things. As a result, the exit was closed for some time. All protesters were fined, police said.

According to the police, about thirty demonstrators and about twenty tractors and other agricultural vehicles were involved. Protesters protested the government’s nitrogen policy.
