News from the NOStoday, 01:22

President Putin’s expected televised speech has been postponed. Russian media reported that Putin would address the population in prime time, but that he was later withdrawn.

No official reason was given for the delay. Putin performed on other occasions yesterday in Moscow.

The speech is expected to air this morning. There is no confirmation of this.

It would be Putin’s first televised speech to the Russian people since the invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

Late at night, Kremlin-linked political analyst Sergei Markov urged Telegram followers to “go to sleep.” He mentioned 08:00 Dutch time as a possible new time for the speech. The time of 07:00 is also mentioned.

Still no response to the referendum

It is also speculated that Putin will speak of a mobilization, of the ability to call more people for war. A prominent MP from Putin’s United Russia party told a Russian newspaper last night that there will be no general mobilization now.
