Subban began his NHL career in 2010 with Montreal and won the 2013 Norris Trophy as the league’s best defender. The Toronto native moved to Nashville in 2016 and has been playing in New Jersey since 2019, where he scored 22 points in 77 games last season.

This June, Subban was awarded the King Clancy Trophy, which is awarded for leadership skills on and off the ice and humanitarian work. The hockey player, whose parents came to Canada from the Caribbean, was honored for his work in the areas of racial and social inequality, youth hockey, disadvantaged youth and relief during the coronavirus pandemic.
