Groups of people with upside down flags stood at various points along the glass carriage route between Noordeinde Palace and Koninklijke Schouwburg. Whistles and whistles were also heard as the carriage passed by with William Alexander, Queen Máxima and Princess Amalia.

A man was arrested on Bezuidenhoutsweg in The Hague. The photos show that he was taken away by the agents. A police spokesperson has not yet explained why the man was arrested. According to local media, the police asked him to hand over a stick to which he had attached a protest flag, but he refused.

There were also people with their flags upside down in front of the Council of State building. Princess Beatrice, who was watching the procession from that building, seemed unable to see the carriage.

Even on the way back to the Noordeinde Palace, there were cheers and boos and people stood with their flags upside down. At the Council of State they often shouted “traitors”, while Princess Beatrice, who had risen to see the carriage, greeted her with her hand.

Even on the balcony scene, a group of protesters with upturned flags could be heard and seen again. The cheers of the children and other royalists present were partly drowned out by the whistles.
