Upper Austrian FPÖ leader Manfred Haimbuchner gives away his climate bonus on Facebook. As deputy governor, with a monthly income of 17,000 euros, he has no low income. “Since there are many fellow countrymen who need this money more urgently, I am giving away my climate bonus,” explained Haimbuchner. “Five winners will be happy with around € 100 each.”
The competition has been online since Thursday night on the “Manfred Haimbuchner” Facebook page – and now it has also inspired hackers.

As Haimbuchner surprised on Monday, the criminals had copied his Facebook page and created a fake competition. “I would not have believed that the lottery for my climate bonus would also be of interest to hackers,” says Haimbuchner. “Yesterday we managed to fend off an attempt where people were already promised profits with a fake Facebook profile. A link was used to attract sensitive data such as account numbers. We report this case today ”.
The fake profile has already been blocked and can no longer be found. More than 1400 people have already taken part in the actual competition. It lasts until October 3rd.
