Elizabeth II’s favorite pony faces the funeral procession in Windsor

Yesterday the whole world paid a final tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. Dignitaries, royalty and politicians from around the world gathered in London to greet the woman she ruled for seven decades. Countless people have also accompanied the funeral procession of the now former sovereign to St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, her final resting place, where she will rest with her husband, Prince Philip.

Aired on channels all over the world, this moment was marked in particular by the presence of Carlton Lima Emma, one of the late queen’s favorite ponies, on the side of the road leading to the castle. The one the queen led until she was ninety was accompanied by squire Terry Pendry. Images full of symbols, which once again demonstrate Elizabeth II’s love for animals and more particularly horses. A final tribute that touched the whole world, just like the presence of the queen’s corgi, Sandy and Muick.
