Pumpkin compote that tastes like pineapple compote. In a way, Latvian pineapple compote, which is good as a sweet dish with morning porridge as well as meat dishes. I propose the recipe of Evelina Jurkevičas-Saulkalne, which is rapidly disappearing from our winter supplies.

ingredients
300 g pumpkin (diced)
0.5 l (enough water to completely cover the pumpkin in the pot)
8 cloves
5 allspice
3 teaspoons vanilla sugar
½ tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. vinegar 5% or 6%
You can also add lemon peels
Preparation
Boil the water, adding sugar and spices.
Place the squash pieces in boiling water and cook until the squash is slightly soft, but doesn’t melt.
Remove from the heat and stir in the vinegar.
Pour into a jar.
Enjoy your meal!
