The Phantom of the Opera holds the record for the longest life in New York

  • The Phantom of the Opera is still talked about in New York… This legendary musical debuted in New York in 1988 and was an immediate success. So much so that the show remained on Broadway for almost 35 years, without interruption! The Phantom of the Opera thus holds the title of Broadway’s longest-running musical.
  • Unfortunately, the good story will end in February 2023. The show is struggling to restart after the Covid crisis and the losses push producers to end the ghost’s career. It is therefore now Chicago that will embody the current show for the longest time on Broadway.
