GIACARTA, KOMPAS.com – Inspector General Ferdy Sambo has officially fired by police. The two-star general’s career in the Bhayangkara Corps was completely over.

Unable to accept his dismissal, Sambo filed an appeal through the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP).

However, the KKEP trial denied his appeal. The former head of the National Police’s Professional and Security Division (Kadiv Propam) was officially fired for disrespect.

Now, the senior national police officer has been threatened with death on suspicion of the alleged murder of Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J.

Monarch career

Sambo originally carved out a brilliant career during his nearly three decades in the police force. He has even been touted as the youngest two-star general.

The man born in Barru, South Sulawesi on February 19, 1973, graduated from the Police Academy (Akpol) in 1994.

Sambo has experience in the field of investigators. In 2010 he served as the head of the criminal investigation unit (Kasat Reskrim) of the West Jakarta police.

His career continued to grow until he was appointed police chief of Purbalingga in 2012. A year later, he served as Brebes police chief.

Faster and faster, in 2015 Sambo was Deputy Director of the General Criminal Investigation (Wadireskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya.

In 2016 he was also appointed Head of Subdirection (Kasubdit) IV, then Head of Subdirection III of the Directorate of General Crimes (Dittipidum) of the Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

Then, on November 16, 2020, Sambo began serving as the head of the Propam Police Division. Who would have thought, this was his last position before he was expelled from the police.

Throughout his career, Sambo has been involved in the disclosure of a number of notable cases such as the Sarinah Thamrin bomb (2016), the case of coffee containing cyanide (2016), the case of the false letter of suspect Djoko Tjandra (2018) , to the fire of the Indonesian Attorney General’s office (2020).

Deactivated then uninstalled

The case of the death of Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J became the beginning of Sambo’s career collapse at the Bhayangkara Institution. This case was first revealed on July 11, 2022.

The narrative circulating at the beginning was that Brigadier J died after being involved in a shooting with Richard Eliezer or Bharada E at Sambo’s official residence in Duren Tiga area, South Jakarta, on Friday (08/07/2022) .

It was initially claimed that the incident began with the alleged abuse by Brigadier J of Sambo’s wife, Putri Candrawati.

Following this case, Sambo was deactivated from the position of Chief of the Propam Police Division on July 18, 2022. Two weeks later, on August 4, 2022, he was officially removed from his position.

Along with 9 other police officers, Sambo was transferred as a high-ranking officer (pati) of the police headquarters (Yanma) service.

All of them were suspected of violating the code of ethics because they were unprofessional in handling the case of Brigadier J.

Suspicion of murder

Investigations into the death of Brigadier Joshua continue. Exactly on August 9, 2022, Sambo was named a suspect in an alleged premeditated murder.

He is suspected of being the mastermind behind the premeditated murder of his own men.

The national police chief, General Listyo Prabowo, confirmed that there were no incidents of shooting or harassment at Sambo’s home, as the narrative circulated at the beginning.

The actual incident, Sambo ordered Richard Eliezer or Bharada E to shoot Joshua at his official residence in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta on Friday (7/8/2022).

Later, he fired Brigadier J’s gun into the walls of his home to make it look like a gunfight was in progress.

“To make it look like a gunfight had occurred, brother FS (Ferdy Sambo) shot J (Joshua) several times with a pistol belonging to the J (Joshua) pistol to give the impression that a shooting had occurred,” Sigit explained at a press conference on Tuesday (8/9/2022).

Before Sambo, Bharada E was already a suspect. Additionally, Sambo’s wife’s aide named Ricky Rizal or Bripka RR and Sambo’s home assistant Strong Ma’ruf have also been named suspects.

After Sambo, on Friday (8/19/2022), it was the turn of Sambo’s wife, Putri Candrawati, who was named suspect in this case.

The five were charged with premeditated murder and were charged with Article 340 subsidiary of Article 338 in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).

The maximum penalty is the death penalty, life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years’ imprisonment.

Obstruction of justice

Not only suspected of being the mastermind of the murder, Sambo is also a suspect obstruction of justice or the act of obstructing investigations into the case of Joshua’s death.

The obstruction of the investigation in this case ranged from the destruction and disappearance of CCTV cameras, to the destruction of the crime scene (TKP).

In this case, Sambo is not alone. There are six other police officers who have been named suspects obstruction of justice namely Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, Kombes Agus Nurpatria, AKBP Arif Rachman Arifin, Commissioner Baiquni Wibowo, Commissioner Chuck Putranto and AKP Irfan Widyanto.

The suspects were accused of article 49 in conjunction with article 33 and / or article 48 paragraph (1) in conjunction with article 32 paragraph (1) of law no. 19 of 2016 on electronic information and transactions. The penalty can range from 8 to 10 years of imprisonment.

They are also subject to Article 221, paragraph 1, and 233 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code and / or Article 56 of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment from 9 months to 4 years of imprisonment. .

Fired, then appeal

Sambo had filed a resignation request with the police a few days before the KKEP trial. However, the request was rejected by the Chief of Police.

Police are still processing the alleged violation of Sambo’s ethics through the KKEP session which was held from Thursday (8/25/2022) to Friday (8/26/2022).

The results of the code of ethics trial stated that Sambo was dishonorably discharged by the National Police.

“The dismissal did not happen out of respect or for PTDH as a member of the national police,” said the head of the Intelligence and Security Agency (Kabaintelkam) Komjen Ahmad Dofiri reading the verdict of the trial held at the headquarters of the national police, Jakarta. .

Not only that, an ethical sanction was also imposed on Sambo with the declaration of having committed a shameful act and an administrative sanction in the form of special placement (patsus) for 40 days.

On the decision of the trial commission, Sambo did not accept it. He immediately appealed.

“Please allow, in accordance with Article 29 of PP 7 of 2022, allow us to appeal, whatever the decision on the appeal, we are ready to implement it,” said Sambo at that time.

Three weeks later, Sambo’s fate was decided. The National Police beat the hammer, deciding to reject Sambo’s appeal regarding his dismissal as a police officer.

“Dismiss the appellant’s appeal,” said on Monday (19/9/2022) the chief of the hearing of the appeal commission, Inspector General of Police General Supervision (Irwasum) Komjen Agung Budi Maryoto at the headquarters of the National Police, Jakarta.

“Strengthen the decision of the Police Ethics Commission hearing of August 26, 2022 on behalf of the offender, Ferdy Sambo,” Agung added.

The head of the National Police’s Public Relations Division, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said the appeal decision is final and binding. Sambo could not take any other legal remedies against the results of this KKEP decision.

Thus, Sambo was officially fired by the National Police. The general’s moncer career ended.

Now, the police are still pursuing legal proceedings against Sambo regarding the case of the death of Brigadier J. The threat of sanctions for decades in prison, possibly even the death penalty, hangs over the former senior officer. police.
