On 17 September 2022, the city of Strasbourg lost an emblematic figure of its heritage. Pierre Bardet, director of Vitrines de Strasbourg and star of the Christmas market, has died. The singer M. Pokora, of Alsatian origin, wanted to pay him a beautiful tribute.

The Christmas shop is an integral part of the soul of city of strasbourg. Its small huts and traders, as well as its illuminations. Pierre Bardet, director of the trade association Les Vitrines de Strasbourg and announcer of the Christmas lights, died on September 17, 2022. On Twitter, M. Humility paid him a heartfelt tribute.

Mr. Pokora is very attached to his Strasbourg origins
The singer, who now lives in Los Angeles with his wife Christina Milian and their children, is very attached to his Alsatian origins. Born in Strasbourg and having lived part of his childhood in the town of Schiltigheim, M. Pokora has never forgotten where he comes from. In November 2021, he even let his family discover his favorite city. On his Instagram account he in particular paid tribute to Strasbourg, at the time decorated with lights and the Christmas market. The caption reads: “Strasbourg my love … Anyone who knows or follows me knows how attached I am to my city, to my region. It was therefore important for me to bring my children there from an early age. Immerse them with magic of Christmas that reigns in Strasbourg. Strasbourg I love you forever “.
M. Pokora even received a medal of honor from the city in 2014, during her tour for the musical Robin Hood. “It’s home. It’s a city where I’ve always felt good, where I’ve always had the impression of being the son of the country for ten years, so this medal is a real honor,” said the singer after being decorated.
