The 26-year-old man with 1.64 per thousand of alcohol in his blood crashed into a taxi in front of him on the B 138, the Pyhrnpass road in Cadipietra. The 40-year-old taxi driver and the passenger, a 42-year-old woman were injured. Rescue took her to the hospital in Wels-Grieskirchen.
Wrecked car hidden in the carport
The alcoholic escaped by hiding himself and his car about 300 meters from the crash site on a farm. The man from Wels quickly put the wreck in a carport and partially hidden it behind a trailer.
Apparently the runaway driver wanted to lock the car with the remote control, while the flashing lights attracted the attention of the police to the car. A breathalyser showed a blood alcohol level of 1.64 per thousand. The 26-year-old’s license was picked up on the spot, and he too was reported.
