On Sunday 25 September 2022 JuKi, a special festival for children and young people for the whole family, will take place in Werksviertel-Mitte. More than 100 attractions, information stands and a rich program of stages await visitors from 11:00 to 17:00. Great family vacations, adventure park vouchers, material gifts and dozens of other prizes can be won in the lottery with free tickets. In numerous festival stands and in the most diverse corners of the neighborhood, children can not only watch, but also become active, be it artistically, musically or sportingly. And best of all: the entrance to the festival, the hands-on activities and the stage program are completely free.
JuKi festival for children and young people is so many things combined in one: adventure playground, place of reflection, learning workshop, support network, talent factory, open-air museum and entertainment venue. The list of attractions that visitors can experience in over 100 stands is long. On the Knödelplatz, the puppet theater, the bouncy castle and the children’s railway create a fairground atmosphere. Together with our media partner Radio TEDDY, children can become journalists themselves and report live from JuKi. At the DinoPark stand in the Altmühltal, young researchers go in search of fossils. There are offers to try wrestling, karate, Suomi, the giant kicker, juggling or yoga. Children and young people can let off steam artistically by decorating the gingerbread; just a few steps away, children and parents can savor the experience of horseback riding.
The youth in traditional costume from the Hochries-Samerberg Association for the Conservation of Mountain Customs offers an insight into Bavarian tradition and history. Among other things, they make a demonstration of the Goasslschnalzen and take a replica of the historic postal carriage to the Werksviertel-Mitte.
One of the musical highlights of the JuKi is the performance of the first inclusive Bavarian gospel choir “Oh happy day!”. The Freies Musikzentrum will be listened to with a wind orchestra. There are also dance shows from standard to rock’n’roll, accompanied by live bands such as the Munich Flames or the young Rattle Snake Torpedo Kids. And Kim’s children’s ballet includes dancing!
Also interesting are the new areas of Werksviertel-Mitte, which were not yet accessible to the previous festivals. For example, the terraces of the Heavens Gate bouldering and climbing center and the Adina Hotel. The mountaineering school on WERK3 and the ErlebnisKraftwerk freestyle sports hall with their offerings of exercises from parkour to trampoline are always impressive.
But JuKi not only entertains, but also offers numerous social organizations the opportunity to network and obtain information. During the festival you can try many inclusive sports and recreational activities. Braille can be learned at the MobilSpiel eV booth, and at the quartet booth in Mitterfeldstraße, a blind lady tells what her world looks like. A new special area is dedicated to the theme of “Generational Encounters”. A dozen organizations present themselves here that attach particular importance to intergenerational meetings and the appreciation of the elderly in our society.
And then, in addition to all these practical and informative offers, there is also the large lottery with free tickets for family holidays, hotel vouchers for family stays, Airhop vouchers and much more up for grabs. In its form, the Munich JuKi is the most important and integrative festival for everyone’s families
Social classes. We cordially invite you and all Munich residents to experience a special day with us in the Werksviertel-Mitte.
