Extension of the RER E: also at the Défense Eole it will be delayed by a year

Finally, also for La Défense (Hauts-de-Seine), the RER E will be delayed. It won’t come until spring 2024, at best. One year later than expected. Valérie Pécresse, president of Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), had slipped quickly after hearing the SNCF boss Réseau on Tuesday 13 September. But the company had – incidentally – assured that the infrastructure would be “well ready” in La Défense in the spring of 2023. “Only the trains will be missing,” she assured her. Alstom, the manufacturer of these trains, the famous RER NG, and the IDFM later claimed that these trains would arrive “on time”.
