This decision is the last step to take, after making changes through several changes to company policies.

“Global economic conditions require us to adapt faster and evaluate business priorities to be more efficient. This is a very difficult decision,” he said.
Efficiency measures are in line with Shopee’s global goal of achieving independence and sustainability, which are 2 important components in running a business in the current global economic uncertainty.
“The company will focus on independent and sustainable business growth and we want to strengthen and ensure that our company’s operations are stable in the current economic situation,” he added.
Shopee is committed to providing support to employees affected by this policy.
“This process will be carried out on the basis of government regulations. Affected employees will receive severance pay in accordance with the law with an additional month’s salary,” he explained.
Affected Shopee employees can still use the company’s health insurance facilities until the end of the year with all the benefits.
Shopee Indonesia further warrants that this step will not affect business operations and services to all sellers, buyers and partners in Indonesia.
