Cybercriminals are taking advantage of Queen Elizabeth II’s death to launch phishing attacks to lure users to malicious pages designed to steal Microsoft account credentials. The threat team at Proofpoint, a cybersecurity and compliance firm, found fraudulent emails in which cybercriminals were posing as the Microsoft team and attempted to trick recipients into signing a virtual condolence book online in memory of the deceased monarch.
