Malappuram: Seven accused were arrested for stealing the first prize ticket of the Nirmal state lottery. Alavi of Malappuram Mancheri Papinippara lost the first prize ticket worth Rs 70 lakh in the Nirmal lottery last month.
On the 19th of last month, the award for the ticket taken by Alavi, who runs a tea shop, was announced. But within days he was hijacked by a gang. ‘Two people came to me for five or six days nonstop saying that if I give them the ticket, they will pay me quickly. But I said the decision is to give the bank note and I won’t give it to you. They said that if I give it to him at my house it will be done immediately and if I give it to the bank it will take about a year to get the money. When two people were constantly saying this, I agreed to give the ticket.
Then he left his two children and a friend with tickets. They took their children and their friend to the car they came from. Then they got into the car after taking the ticket from the children saying they wanted to take a photo. After showing that the ticket was being scanned, the car suddenly drove off and drove away. Mon was hanging on the car door. He was dragged away for a while. He has minor injuries. They came saying they will give me 45 lakh rupees on the same day. Following the incident, the Malappuram District Police Chief formed a special investigation team and arrested seven people. The arrest was recorded by Palakkad. Police say there are more people in the gang. The lottery department has been informed that even if someone brings stolen lottery tickets, the money will not be made available. The police are checking whose ticket it is now.
